Joshua Gotlib

Managing Partner, Chief Investment Officer

Joshua co-founded Black Spruce in June 2009 and has been responsible for Black Spruce’s growth. He currently oversees all aspects of the business and is the chairman of the investment committee. Prior to Black Spruce, from 2007 to 2009, he purchased, rehabilitated and sold over 50 distressed, residential assets in Upper Manhattan. From 2003 to 2007, Joshua was one of the top producing loan officers for First Meridian Mortgage. 
Joshua is currently an active member of the Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP). Josh and his wife and two sons live in Brooklyn.

Matthew Keller

Partner, Chief Operating Officer

Matt joined Black Spruce in June 2011 and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2013. He is responsible for underwriting, due diligence and asset management. Matt is a member of the investment committee. Prior to Black Spruce, from May 2010 to June 2011, he was an Associate with the Leitner Group, which is the largest privately owned real-estate appraisal company in New York. From June 2007 to February 2010, he was an Analyst in Strategic Planning and Analysis with Alliance Bernstein.
Matt graduated from Haverford College in 2006. He is currently an active member of the Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP). Matt and his wife live in Brooklyn.
